25 Aug 2020

[...] close to positions on some issues of the Kremlin.” The authors have, it seems deliberately, failed to report on statements made by the other co- founder Walter Schwimmer, former Secretary general of the Council of Europe, in strong support of the European project. [...] The DOC works with a wide variety of partners – to name just a few, these have included the VW Foundation and Maecenata Foundation in Germany; CARI in Argentina; the Centre for China and Globalisation in China; the Fondation Prospective et Innovation of former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin; the Brazzaville Foundation under the patronage of HRH Prince Michael of Kent; and more. [...] Given this, we request that the Press Council issue a formal public reprimand, with the obligation for SPIEGEL to print this, along with a correction of the article's many inaccuracies and an admission of bias in the reporting.
