[...] Background The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (Global Platform) is recognized by the United Nations General Assembly as the forum to assess and discuss progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and to advance concerted implementation of disaster risk reduction, sustainable development and climate change mitigation and adaptation. [...] The Platform aims to advance progress in achieving the Sendai Framework’s goal and related targets and indicators, as well as those linked to the SDGs, by sharing good practices and lessons learnt, by energizing the global disaster risk reduction community around new initiatives, and by identifying gaps and making recommendations.
