CONFERENCES ON THE ENVIRONMENT. A Study on Information Sources., LES CONFERENCES EN MATIERE D'ENVIRONNEMENT. ETUDE SUR LES SOURCES D'INFORMATION.

This follows an examination of (a) the number of conferences on the environment and the frequency with which they are cited, (b) the comparative coverage of European and non-European conferences by the major services, (c) a classification of systems according to functions, (d) a comparison of systems specializing in conferences with those special izing in environmental literature and (e) the prob [...] The aim of the report was to list the main sources of information relating to conferences on the environment. [...] These concerned: — the number of conferences and the frequency with which they are cited (Section 2.321); — the comparative coverage of European and non- European conferences (Section 2.322); — a trial classification of systems according to function (Section 2.323); — the comparison of systems specializing in conferences and those specializing in the environment (Section 2.324); — the problem of i [...] Furthermore, this system covers the greatest number of European conferences on the environment; — of the four systems of references to proceedings, the Index of Conference Proceedings of the BLLD is by far the most outstanding. [...] The following points are considered — the services to be provided to users (Section 4.1 ); — the operations to be organized (Section 4.2); — the structure (Section 4.3); — the volume of work (Section 4.4); — the priorities (Section 4.5).
