Maternal mortality rates remain high in low- and middle-income countries, where 94 percent of all cases are recorded. [1] , [2] In India, maternal mortality ratio stands at 113 per 100,000 live births; [3] the government is aiming to reduce the incidence to below 70 by 2030. [4] Experts agree that the promotion of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is among the keys to addressing this massive challenge. However, women—especially those with disability and those caught in conflict or disasters— [5] , [6] and transgender and non-binary people continue to face massive challenges in accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare. [7]
