Americas population size is standing still, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Population growth over the 12-month period from July 1, 2020 through July 1, 2021 stood at unprecedented low of just 0.12%. This is the lowest annual growth since the Bureau began collecting such statistics in 1900, and reflects how all components of population changedeaths, births, and immigration levelswere impacted during a period when the COVID-19 pandemic became most prevalent.[i]
