[...] He was also a member of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development at the University of Gezira in Sudan. [...] He has been a Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and has served as a Legal Advisor in the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. [...] He was a Plenipotentiary for the Republic of Malawi in the negotiations on the Cluster Munition Convention and the Arms Trade Treaty, where he significantly contributed to the drafting of some of the key provisions of these legal instruments. [...] In the early phase of the post-conflict peacebuilding efforts in 2003 when relations between the police and the military in Sierra Leone were strained, he led the multi-stakeholder Joint Survey Team (JST) commissioned by the National Security Council (NSC) of Sierra Leone to look into the status of relationship between the two forces.
