This briefing note outlines the relationship between fossil-fuel subsidy reform and Indonesia's many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).How might we expect SMEs to be affected by fossil-fuel subsidy reform? What do we know about the impacts of reforms in the recent past? The note concludes by identifying avenues for further research, and actions that could be taken by governments and SMEs to minimize the potential negative impacts of fossil-fuel subsidy reforms.
