Only 11% of respondents think that the younger people of today have it easier than the younger people of 10 years ago; 18% think that in comparison to the younger people of 20 years ago; and 22% think that in comparison to the younger people of 30 years ago. [...] For no question was there a divergence of more than 18 percentage points between the answers of any two age cohorts; indeed, a divergence of 18 percentage points occurred on the topic of inflation and the cost of living, where a majority (61%) of 18-24-year-olds pointed to this as one of the top three most important for the young people of today, as compared to a plurality (43%) of over 65-year-ol. [...] Proportionally, however, the biggest discrepancy occurred on the issue of immigration & asylum, where 5% of 18-24-year-olds pointed to this as one of the top three most important for the young people of today as compared to 18% of over 65-year-olds. [...] A plurality of the GB public think increasing the minimum wage is one of the two best policy proposals from the ones provided for improving the financial situation of young people (38%). [...] This view was a lot more toned among 25-49-year- olds, only 34% of whom felt the same way; on the other hand, 25-49-year-olds were particularly likely to think that the Conservative Party looks out for the interests of Millennials least, with a plurality of 21% of them having this view, as compared to only 12% of the general public and a mere 3% of 18-24-year-olds.
