We adopted and calibrated the ICCT’s cost curve study for diesel trucks to our projection of future vehicle efficiency, weight, and cost for diesel dump trucks.21 Table 9 summarizes the potential efficiency technologies and additional costs we assumed for the diesel dump truck model to 2035. [...] Similarly for the fuel-cell electric dump truck, the share of the fuel cell and battery pack in the total retail price decreases from 41% in 2021 to 25% in 2035, and the share of the hydrogen storage tank decreases from 20% to 12%.
