Its multidisciplinary team of specialists, with expertise in data and AI policy, public engagement, computational social science and software engineering, are supported by an advisory board of experts to deliver, test and refine trustworthy approaches to data and AI governance, working with organisations across the UK. The CDEI is committed to ensuring that citizens have a voice in how data and data-driven technologies are governed; engaging with the public is therefore a core component of its work. The CDEI’s utilises a range of methodologies, including survey research and focus groups, to build a deep understanding of public attitudes towards the use of data and AI, and the values that citizens want reflected in models of data and AI governance.
