Achievement in advanced mathematics courses is important for long-term college and career success. However, many students do not have access to advanced mathematics courses. Using data from the American Mathematics Educator Study fielded in spring 2023, researchers use survey data from high school principals to describe high school students’ access to and participation in mathematics learning opportunities and postsecondary transition supports.
