The Freedom of Movement Council: Facts and Figures

19 Jun 2024

The Freedom of Movement Council is an independent body set up by the Nordic governments in 2014 to promote cross-border mobility for people and companies in the region. It is a top priority for Nordic co-operation to make it easy for people to move to other Nordic countries to work, study and start businesses, all of which are crucial to achieving the vision of making the Nordic Region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. Since its inception in 2014, the Council has helped remove 91 obstacles to cross-border freedom of movement in the Nordic Region.
