The creation of the International Network on Conflict and Fragility in 2008 and the World Development Report (WDR) in 2011 unpacked Security-Development Nexus and the Securitization of Development in Africa 5 the link between security and development and recommended implementing strategies related to this nexus. [...] In the African context, the consequences of the security-development nexus can vary, depending on the specific context and the nature of the regional security and development challenges.
