Chief among them are: the Convention on the Elimination of 24 All Forms of Discrimination against Women, 1979, the Convention on the Rights of the 25 Child, 1989, the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and their Families, 1990, The Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in respect of Inter-country Adoptions, 1993, the Internation. [...] 182 concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour, 1999 and the Optional protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Sale of Children, Child 26 Prostitution and Child Pornography, 2000. [...] The purpose of the convention is to promote cooperation amongst Member States in order to deal with various aspects of prevention, interdiction and suppression of trafficking in women and children, the repatriation and rehabilitation of victims of trafficking and prevent the use of women and children in international prostitution networks, particularly where the countries of the 40 SAARC region ar.
