AER II focused on the nowcast and forecast, the special topics (outline of the current socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 in EU fisheries and measures taken to mitigate the negative effects, the effects of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) between the EU and the UK, fuel efficiency, providing aggregated data specifically on trawlers) as well as drafting of the regional chapters. [...] STECF concludes that two important issues require extra analysis, and would need to be addressed before the AER 2022: the development of a routine to analyse the new variables collected under the EU-MAP, and the realignment of the nowcast methodology to accommodate the current unstable conditions of the market and the uncertainty of the effect of management changes. [...] The SSCF accounted for 61% of the number of vessels and 50% of the days-at-sea, while LSF generated by far the highest landed weight, with 88% of the total and 76% of the value in 2019.
