Research Futures 2.0 A new look at the drivers and scenarios that will define the decade

20 Apr 2022

In its second stage of a multiyear study, Elsevier looks at pressures, challenges, and potentials in research in the 2020s. With input from more than 1,000 researchers in an internationally structured study, the report gives a new set of insights targeting pressures on publishing, funding, and women in research, with an eye to opportunities developing in funding sources, technology, and collaboration. The report builds on a previous Research Futures study in 2019, carried out with the global research agency Ipsos MORI to gather predictions from funders, publishers, technology experts and researchers on what research might look like in 10 years’ time.
