St. Lucia - Gender Scorecard (English)
8 March 2023
Summary
Although slowly declining, St. Lucia's adolescent fertility rate remains higher than the average for upper middle-income countries. Boys are 9 percentage points less likely than girls to complete lower secondary education. Men are 9 percentage points more likely than women to have vulnerable jobs. Only a fourth of firms have women as top managers. There are no provisions in the law regarding parental leave. Gender data remain scarce in key areas, hampering policies to narrow gaps between women and men, boys, and girls.
