Renewable Energy Association

The Renewable Energy Association (REA) is a British trade association that represents renewable energy producers and promotes the use of sustainable energy in the United Kingdom. As of September 2021, it was the largest renewable energy and clean technology industry body in the UK. Established in 2001, the REA's main goal is to support the growth and development of renewable energy and associated technologies. Its activities include policy development and advocacy, knowledge sharing, and promoting industry standards. The REA represents a wide variety of sectors including bioenergy (biomass, biofuels, waste-to-energy, etc.), solar power, wind power, marine energy, and energy storage, among others. One of the key functions of the REA is to lobby government on behalf of its members to improve conditions for the renewable energy industry. It also provides information and guidance to its members, policymakers, and the public on the benefits and importance of renewable energy for addressing climate change, creating jobs, and improving energy security.
